TSB is deploying team to investigate a marine accident that occurred in Nanaimo, BC

(Gatineau, Quebec, December 22, 2011) –The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) is deploying a team to investigate the accident of the BC Ferries’ Coastal Inspiration ferry that made a hard landing at Duke Point Terminal in Nanaimo, BC on December 20, 2011. The TSB will gather information and assess the occurrence.

The TSB is an independent agency that investigates marine, pipeline, railway and aviation transportation occurrences. Its sole aim is the advancement of transportation safety. It is not the function of the Board to assign fault or determine civil or criminal liability.
