TSB is deploying team to St. John’s NFLD to investigate a marine accident
(Gatineau, Quebec, November 25, 2011) –The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) is deploying a team to St. John's, NFLD, to investigate a marine accident. The offshore supply vessel MAERSK DETECTOR was involved in a collision; the vessel has sustained damages and is on its way to St. John’s, NFLD, for repairs. The TSB will gather information from the vessel and assess the occurrence.
The TSB is an independent agency that investigates marine, pipeline, railway and aviation transportation occurrences. Its sole aim is the advancement of transportation safety. It is not the function of the Board to assign fault or determine civil or criminal liability.
