Transportation Safety Board of Canada deploys investigators to marine incident near Baie-Sainte-Catherine, Quebec
Quebec City, Quebec, 16 July 2013 — The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) is deploying a team of 2 investigators to the site of a marine incident in the vicinity of Batture aux Alouettes, near Baie-Sainte-Catherine, Quebec, where the passenger vessel Grand Charlevoix, carrying 38 persons, made contact with the bottom and damaged its hull. The TSB will gather information and assess the occurrence.
The TSB is an independent agency that investigates marine, pipeline, railway and aviation transportation occurrences. Its sole aim is the advancement of transportation safety. It is not the function of the Board to assign fault or determine civil or criminal liability.
