TSB deploys a team to Riverport, Nova Scotia, to assess an occurrence involving the fishing vessel Bear Cove Point
Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, 10 June 2015 — The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) is deploying a team of investigators to Riverport, Nova Scotia, to assess an occurrence involving the fishing vessel Bear Cove Point which sank on Georges Banks on 9 June 2015. All 4 crew members were rescued. The TSB will gather information and assess the occurrence.
The TSB is an independent agency that investigates marine, pipeline, railway and aviation transportation occurrences. Its sole aim is the advancement of transportation safety. It is not the function of the Board to assign fault or determine civil or criminal liability.
