Transportation Safety Board of Canada deploys investigator to train derailment in Calgary, Alberta
Calgary, Alberta, 11 September, 2013 — The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) deploys an investigator to Calgary, Alberta, where a Canadian Pacific freight train derailed 8 cars containing flammable liquids. No leaks were reported. The TSB will gather information and assess the occurrence.
The TSB is an independent agency that investigates marine, pipeline, railway and aviation transportation occurrences. Its sole aim is the advancement of transportation safety. It is not the function of the Board to assign fault or determine civil or criminal liability.
