1. Units of measurement in this report conform to International Maritime Organization (IMO) standards or, where there is no such standard, are expressed in the International System of units.

3. The name has since been changed to BC Ferry Services, but for consistency is referred to as the British Columbia Ferry Corporation (BCFC) throughout this report.

4. Directional reference is given relative to the vessel's bow end, with No. 1 being "forward."

23. Lloyd's rules allow the use of copper pipe for fuel oil pressure gauge connections provided the pipe is seamless and has been fully annealed. Canadian Marine Machinery Regulations, on the other hand, allow only steel piping for this purpose. In this case, the Canadian regulations are more stringent and supersede Lloyd's rules.
